Peter Karmanos Jr., majority owner of the Carolina Hurricanes, could be close completing a sale of the NHL team for about $500 million, according to a Bloomberg News report. Hurricanes president Don Waddell said Thursday the offer, if accepted, would result in the team staying in Raleigh. “The team is not moving,” he said. The new owners would include Chuck Greenberg, who previously owned part of the Texas Rangers.
