A new poll from the University of Houston may have Texas Republicans more nervous heading into a presidential election than they have in decades. According to the University of Houston poll, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has support from 41 percent of the state’s likely voters to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s 38 percent support in the state. Given the poll’s margin of error of +/- 3 percent, the presidential race in Texas is a statistical tie.
